RULES & REGULATIONS

Students of Panchayat Samiti Degree Mahavidyalaya, Deogaon are expected to maintain high standards of discipline, decorum and responsibility – in the classroom, on the campus and outside as representatives of the institution.

GENERAL RULES FOR STUDENTS

Students studying in this college are required to observe the following rules and regulations for a healthy academic environment and smooth functioning of the institution:

  • The academic session of the college is from 1st June to 31st May. The date of commencement of lectures for different classes is notified separately.
  • Before a student is admitted to the college, he/she and his/her guardian must sign an undertaking in the prescribed form stating that the student will abide by the rules and regulations of the college and maintain the standard of discipline as determined by the Principal.
  • Every student must register with the college office his/her residential address. Any change in the home address should be intimated in writing to the office immediately.
  • All grievances addressed to the Principal should be dropped in the Grievance Box kept near the reading room. The concerned clerk will place them before the Grievance Redressal Committee and applications will be disposed of at the earliest possible time.
  • If any student desires an interview with the Principal, he/she may do so with prior permission. Students should not meet the Principal for routine matters, which are to be routed through the college office. Only special problems may be brought directly to the notice of the Principal.
  • Students seeking leave of absence from the college must apply for leave before they actually remain absent. In special cases such as illness, where prior leave is not possible, an application for grant of leave should be sent by post or submitted immediately after resuming classes. Long absence due to illness should be supported by a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
  • Fees are received in the college office on notified dates. Students should tender the exact amount of their dues and stand in a queue in an orderly manner while waiting near the counter.
  • When a match is to be played away from the headquarters, members of the team and other students who wish to accompany the team must obtain prior leave of absence from the Principal.
  • Continuous absence from the college without submitting any application for leave shall be treated as a serious breach of discipline.
  • Students shall abide by the above rules and regulations to ensure a healthy atmosphere in the college. Violation of these rules will be seriously dealt with and may invite disciplinary action.
  • Students must not spit on the walls, floors, pillars or doors of the college. Scribbling, pasting placards or posters, or otherwise disfiguring college walls or blackboards is strictly prohibited. Students identified indulging in such acts are liable for punishment including removal from the college rolls.
  • Students are forbidden to loiter in the corridors. When they have no classes to attend, they may use the reference room or common room during leisure hours.
  • Students are strictly warned against tampering with electric light and fan switches, water taps or other fittings and fixtures of the college.
  • Students should take their seats before the teacher enters the classroom and should not ordinarily leave their seats during the lecture hour.
  • Students must conduct themselves with a sense of decorum and dignity at all times, particularly in the college, playground and while attending meetings or functions.
  • Students are warned not to handle articles which are not their own property. Any damage or loss caused to college property will be recovered from the concerned students.
  • Cycles must be properly locked and kept in the cycle shed provided for boys and girls separately. The college is not responsible for loss due to negligence.
  • Students should carry their Identity Cards with them during college hours and at college functions, and produce them for verification whenever demanded by the authorities.
  • Dress Code:
    For +3 Boys – Red & White check shirt with Grey pant.
    For +3 Girls – Grey salwar, Red–White kameez and Deep–Grey dupatta.
  • Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college as well as in all the hostels of the college. Any student found indulging in ragging will be dealt with as per UGC/ Government guidelines and may face strict disciplinary action including expulsion.

Leave & Attendance

Students should apply for leave of absence in advance wherever possible. Long absence must be supported by medical certificates in case of illness.

Continuous absence without information is considered a serious breach of discipline and may affect a student’s continuance in the college.

Campus Conduct

Cleanliness of the campus, proper use of facilities and respectful behaviour towards teachers, staff and fellow students are essential expectations from all students.

Any form of violence, ragging, vandalism or misconduct will invite strict disciplinary action.

Dress Code & Identity

Students must follow the prescribed dress code on all working days and carry their Identity Card within the campus.

Failure to observe dress and identity regulations may lead to denial of entry into classrooms or college events.
